This page will contain the profiles of the Cichlids I personally kept. There is quite a large number of species that I maintained over almost 40 year of having fun, so please be patient. This is a big and time consuming project and I will do my best to complete this as quick as I can.
The reason for doing this is simple. There are several websites with excellent profile sections which are great for identification but do not elaborate too much on the maintenance. My aim is more geared to help with the maintenance of these fish by writing down my personal experiences. Whenever I see a new cichlid that I have never kept, I try to find out more about it before I buy it. Most information you get is about their natural habitat which only helps you to a certain point. The aquarium conditions are always different. Hearing or reading several independent personal experiences will help. |
