This is a personal website.  The intent is to share my passion about cichlids and my experience with anybody who has the same interest.  All information, photos  and comments on this website are my own if not  otherwise specified.

Anybody who has tried to photograph fish will know how hard and time consuming it is.  If somebody wants to use my photos, she/he is welcome to do so.  All I am asking for is to give me credit. 
Point of clarification: “Buntbarsch” is the German word for “Cichlid”.

There are two people that made it possible for me to have this website: Annette Buchkowski and Kevin Omura.  They not only help me with the technical aspect but also encouraged me when my frustration got the better of me.  Thank you Annette, thank you Kevin. I will find a way to make it up to you.

A good way to learn about our hobby is reading the books written by people that have dedicated their professional lives to study the fishes we love so much.  I truly believe that we take on a responsibility when we buy these animals and that we need to do whatever we can to understand their needs.  The more you learn about the animals in your care, the better it is for them and yourself.  In trying to be as truthful as possible, here are the books I used as reference:
